I quit a perfectly good job to start a business in my 50s.
I didn't feel 100% ready. I didn't know how. I couldn't be sure it was going to work.
Life doesn't give you that luxury.
You have to choose.
Let the fear of uncertainty keep you stuck in place.
Or embrace the discomfort of growth and exploration on the way to creating something new.
Here's the interesting part about forging ahead into the unknown that I missed when I was trying to stay comfortable in the familiar:
The act of moving forward sets you up to build strength, confidence, resilience and perseverance.
To develop self-trust and self-compassion and commitment.
You can't gain these things by thinking, reading, researching and preparing.
You have to take action.
If you're in the habit of overthinking, second-guessing and trying to figure every detail out before taking action I get it.
I was too.
I got tired of wishing and waiting and hoping I'd figure out how to make big moves on my own.
I hired a coach to help me knock down those roadblocks. Six months later I quit my job.
Two years later here I am doing what I love and well on my way to making more money than I did in my corporate director job.
Feeling more confident than ever before, more fulfilled, more alive.
Stop waiting to feel comfortable and ready. That's not how it works.
Courage comes first.
