Developing a Bias for Action

I know that the thought of getting called out for being wrong or underprepared makes your stomach turn. But holding back until you're 100% sure is trademark diligent doer behavior.
It'll get you praise for being "dependable, reliable, efficient and a hard worker."
But it'll never get you known as an impactful leader.
Influential and respected leaders don't wait for perfect information and 100% alignment.
🟢 They work with what they have and course-correct as they go.
🟢 They solve problems in real time.
🟢 They make clear recommendations with just enough information.
Action breaks the spell of overthinking.
It starts with having your own back. That gives you the courage to speak up sooner and make your mark as a leader.
This is exactly how a communications director I worked with landed a senior advisor role at a $70B global low-carbon energy company within a year.
It'll take some reps.
If it were easy, everyone would be an exceptional leader. Start with lower-stakes situations and work your way up to the high-stakes rooms.
